Hello, how can we help?

Whatever plan we got you covered

Dry ice blasting, also known as cryogenic cleaning, utilises solid carbon dioxide (dry ice) pellets propelled at high speed to clean surfaces. The dry ice sublimates (turns from solid to gas) on impact, lifting dirt, grease, paint, and other contaminants away without damaging the underlying material. This makes it a superior alternative to traditional cleaning methods.

The process involves three main stages:

  1. Kinetic Energy: The high-speed impact of the dry ice pellets loosens and breaks down the contaminant.
  2. Thermal Shock: The extremely cold temperature (-79°C) of the dry ice causes the contaminant to contract and become brittle, further aiding its removal.
  3. Sublimation: The dry ice instantly transforms into a gas, expanding in volume and effectively blasting the contaminant away, leaving behind a clean and dry surface.

Dry ice blasting offers numerous advantages:

  • Environmentally Friendly: Uses no harmful chemicals and produces no secondary waste, making it a sustainable cleaning solution.
  • Non-Abrasive: Gentle enough for delicate surfaces, yet powerful enough for tough cleaning jobs. Ideal for intricate or sensitive equipment.
  • Dry Cleaning: Leaves surfaces dry and ready for immediate use, minimising downtime and maximising productivity.
  • Effective on Complex Shapes: Can reach into tight spaces and intricate designs, ensuring a thorough clean.
  • Reduces Mould and Bacteria: The extreme cold effectively eliminates mould, mildew, and bacteria, promoting a healthier environment.
  • Cost-Effective: Reduces cleaning time and labour costs in the long run.
